A hands-on introduction to modern deep learning in PyTorch, from tensors, optimization and training to MLPs, CNNs, autoencoders, GANs, autoregressive models and transformers, with applications in vision, language and large language models, including efficient inference and post-training. Recent research where AI meets scientific discovery, with hands-on work on existing methods and datasets in simplified settings. Topics include AI-driven materials discovery and the data-driven discovery of physical laws.
